Welcome to the Health Room, meet Tonie Gonzalez our Health Aide at Mandalay Middle School.
The purpose of the health room is to provide first aid and to assess any students complaining of an illness. Please be sure that a listed emergency contact person is available and prepared to pick up any student in the event of illness or accident. A sick student must be picked up within the hour of the school contacting the parent or emergency contact. If they are not picked up within the hour, the student will return to class until someone can make it to the school for pick-up. Our school does not have facilities to keep students who are contagious or so ill that they need to be home.
If your child shows signs of illness at home, please take the time to assess their symptoms before sending them to school. For further information on whether or not to keep your child home, please refer to the link below 'How Sick is Too Sick.'
All medications, including over-the-counter medication (ibuprofen/Tylenol, cough drops, cold medicine, etc.), must be checked into the health room by a parent/guardian and still in the original container that it was purchased in. A medication agreement form will need to be completed by the parent/guardian and physician. These forms are available in the health room or you may download a copy below.
If you have any questions please call our main office at 303-982-9802. You may ask to speak directly to her or you can email her at [email protected].
